About Me
Hi, I’m Matt. I grew up in the small shoreline town of Branford, Connecticut. I am a current senior majoring in Architecture with a dual minor in Spanish and Art and Architectural History. Outside of academics, I love to play tennis- I have been a member of the RWU Mens Tennis team for the past four years. I have two dogs (Yorkies) that I adore, and I also love to travel!
I wanted to take this class because I had hoped that it might help me to have a better understanding of mixed media and how I, as a designer, can use this type of knowledge to appeal to a broader audience. In high school, one of my favorite classes was a mixed media course in art. It was geared towards using a variety of media and techniques to generate a hybridized process of art making. I was intrigued by the title of this course because I thought that it might be interesting to learn and understand this concept of a hybridized process in a different light.
I expect that this class will introduce me to ulterior methods for engaging an audience, as well as help to develop new skills to enhance my digital literacy. I would like to use this class as an opportunity to support the creative process of design and critical thinking as opposed to one that hinders it. Lastly, I hope that this class will provide a susceptible learning environment to acquire and draw knowledge from everyone in the class and understand different perspectives.
